Yes, I suffer from travel anxiety. I shouldn’t, I’ve done this a dozen times (to Europe), and countless times domestically. But, I’m already making myself nervous/anxious for lots of reasons (1) I know I won’t get to sleep for another 28 hours (2) not looking forward to walking around Milan for 8 hours till I catch my train to Turin (but I am looking forward to stowing my (very heavy) bags at the baggage check at Milano Centrale!), (3) not looking forward to flying Ryan air, can’t really say why, just not looking forward to it, (4) the 200+ balls I have in the air just make me nervous, darn it!
But, I’m going to focus on the bigger picture here, and not look individually at all 200 parts (170+ are winery visits alone), and calm down. I’m going to take it one day at at time, because in the end, that’s all I/we can do.
My flight leaves from Newark (EWR) to Milano in just over 4 hours. I think I should go get a glass of wine. By the way, a big shout out to a great hotel (never been here before, just got lucky, I suppose), but the Marriott Residence Inn, Liberty Airport (free shuttle service to/from, 10 minutes from airport – take the Air Train from the terminal to P4, go outside to curb) was a great, very comfortable stay. They’re just finishing up renovating the whole place right now, and it’s quite comfortable. Excellent, cheerful service (Christian!).
Anyway, back to that glass of wine I was going to find…
